Sarawak To Limit Inter-Zone Movement From Aug 1 To 14, 2020
PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Government has allowed the Sarawak State Government to limit inter-zone movement from August 01 to 14, 2020 to curb the spreading of COVID-19 Pandemic, said Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
This follows an increase in the number of positive cases over the past few days, this week.
Zone 1 are the yellow or red zones of Kuching, Serian and also Samarahan while Zone 2 are the green zones, which includes Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Kapit, Mukah, Bintulu, Miri and also Limbang Division.
Ismail Sabri said that Sarawak will also limit the number of incoming flights from Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Labuan to enter the State from Aug 01 to 14.
"The State Government has taken strict and proactive measures to prevent the spreading of COVID-19 Pandemic. Those who want to travel interzone must get police permission before doing so, while movement within the same zone is allowed and no permission from the authorities is needed, " he said.
Kuching was declared a COVID-19 Red Zone after four more Coronavirus cases related to the Sentosa Hospital Cluster were detected.

On July 26,2020 the State Disaster Committee reported 38 local transmission and 14 imported cases in Kuching within the last 14 days, while Samarahan recorded 11 local and two imported infections.
The neighbouring districts of Lundu and also Bau reported one imported and one local case each, while the Bintulu district had four imported cases.
