PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has reported a record high 9,020 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours.
This is the fifth (5) consecutive day that Malaysia has broken its all-time high of daily infections.
In a Twitter post, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 558,534.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 2,836 while Kuala Lumpur had 789 infections, making it over 3,500 cases in the Klang Valley.
This was followed by Kelantan with 907 cases, Negeri Sembilan (898 cases), Sarawak (726 cases), Johor (468 cases), Kedah (468 cases), Penang (345 cases), Melaka (340 cases), Perak (272 cases), Sabah (265 cases), Labuan (253 cases), Pahang (216 cases), Terengganu (189 cases), Putrajaya (29 cases) and Perlis about 19 new cases.
