GE15 SEAT

Four candidates have confirmed that they will be contesting for the Puchong parliamentary seat.

They are Yeo Bee Yin from Pakatan - DAP, Datuk Syed Ibrahim Syed Abu Kader from Barisan - Malaysia Indian Muslim Congress (Kimma), Jimmy Chew Jyh Gang from Perikatan - Gerakan and well known activist Kuan Chee Heng or Uncle Kentang who will contest as an independent.

Kimma, which comes under the Barisan coalition, will be contesting in the general elections for the first time. As a show of support, Puchong MCA chairman Datuk Liew Yuen Keong who was tipped to be a likely candidate for the Puchong seat at first was there to cheer Syed Ibrahim, who is Kimma's party president before he entered the nomination centre. The duo  were accompanied by a large group of Barisan members.

Kuan who was more well known by the name of Uncle Kentang, said he would naturally choose the latter moniker to identify him in the ballot paper.

" Of course I used my real name ' Kuan Chee Heng ' in the nomination form," he explained.

The candidate's nomination forms were received at Puchong Indah Multipurpose Hall by returning officer Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali who is Subang Jaya deputy mayor.
