MASSIVE TURNOUT AT SARAWAK PAY (SPAY) GLOBAL OFFICE, UTC SARAWAK AS PEOPLE APPLY FOR SKAS AID - KUCHING SARAWAK, MALAYSIA

KUCHING, SARAWAK (JANUARY 04, 2025): The SPay Global office here bustled with activity over the weekend as droves of Sarawakians turned up to update their Sarawak Pay accounts and apply for the Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance (SKAS).

According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report, Sarawakians from all walks of life arrived as early as 8am, patiently queuing up and waiting for their numbers to be called.

A similar scene was reported at the Service Sarawak counter at the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) Sarawak here, which also saw huge crowds seeking assistance with their SKAS applications.

“SKAS is a yearly financial aid initiative that provides between RM250 and RM800 through the SPay Global app to help vulnerable groups purchase essential items like rice and cooking oil,” said Ukas.

The initiative is targeted at Sarawakians with a household income of RM5,000 or less, qualifying them for an annual RM800 financial aid, while senior citizens without spouses and children in the same income group are entitled to RM400 annual financial aid.

Meanwhile, bachelors earning RM2,500 or less would receive RM250 annually.

For those needing assistance with their Sarawak Pay accounts, SPay Global’s customer service team is available daily from 8am to 5pm at F11 and F12, First Floor, Mall 2, CityOne Megamall.
